Drake LeBrun, MD, MPH is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He takes a holistic approach to each patient and provides a personalized treatment strategy based on each patient’s individual needs and goals.
A Texas native, Dr. LeBrun graduated from Rice University with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Harvard School of Public Health on full-ride scholarships. He completed his orthopedic residency and fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. After completing his training, he was awarded the prestigious M.E. Müller Fellowship, allowing him to master advanced joint replacement techniques in major orthopedic hospitals in England, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. This extensive training has equipped Dr. LeBrun with the expertise to address a wide range of hip and knee conditions, focusing on improving patients’ mobility and quality of life.
Throughout his career, Dr. LeBrun has been dedicated to advancing orthopedic surgery through research. He has over 100 peer-reviewed papers and presentations, and his work has been cited more than 1,500 times. He has presented nationally and internationally on topics such as robotic hip and knee replacement, rapid recovery joint replacement, and direct anterior total hip arthroplasty. His research has garnered multiple awards including the John Insall Award from the Knee Society.
In addition to his research advancing orthopedic techniques and outcomes, he has a longstanding commitment to addressing unmet global health needs. He has volunteered with surgical teams in Peru and Nepal and led research studies in Bolivia and Bangladesh. He also served as a Volunteer Consultant for the World Health Organization’s Global Initiative for Emergency and Essential Surgical Care in Switzerland and Tanzania.
